Congratulations! Glad that you really enjoyed the game, and that's a fantastic planet you got right there! Which ending was your favourite? That moon one? ๐
We have an inside joke that some of our other games might even be someone's planet in Petty Puny Planet. Who knows? Maybe we are also someone else's planet. ๐ Glad you enjoyed the game! ๐ค
That's very odd. Thanks for reporting! We'll look into it in the future as we're going to be more hands-on with Linux testing as we begin work in some commercial projects. Thanks, and cheers! ๐ณ
Depends on how many endings you aim to get! One ending should take you only about 10m to get, assuming you check the text and reactions (which we strongly recommend you to given that's where the fun of the game comes from). ๐
Thank you for making a video on the game! Glad that you had fun playing it! Tried to get any endings other than the Abandonment Ending after you recorded it? ๐ช
Glad that you liked the different choices of the game with their pop culture references and funny results! A planet dress-up game was exactly the niche we were looking for to fulfil so we're glad that we scratched that itch! ๐ช
This is such a creative game and absolutely love the references made. The different choices made adding something new to the overall look of the planet is the best. My favorite is the manga/anime. Those big googly eyes! xD
I did a let's play covering the gaming ending and encourage anyone to play this for themselves to see the other endings! <3
Halo, Im curious about what engine you have used for this project. This is the first time I'm doing webgl and i am researching on how to build it for mobile. So if you are free, would you mind telling me? XD
As for the engine, we used Unity and all of the compilation for WebGL was handled by it directly. From our knowledge, WebGL for mobile with Unity still isn't supported for a ton of reasons, such as the exports being a very heavy load right now.
I know the answer came in really late, but we hope you figured out what you were looking for! If you need more answers, feel free to ask! ๐
I'm enjoying it, but wishing there was some sort of overarching log of plants end stats (like a high score list) or achievement list that kept track of which endings you got. I keep going for lycanthropy, but have yet to see it have any affect, even if I add so many moons, lol.
In looking for a list of endings, found your post mortem for this. It was an informative read! I am currently trying to teach myself to make a game, so it was nice insight into the process!
I think figuring out what choices branch into what is an interesting part of the game, so I don't think adding explanations for choices would necessarily be good.
Thank you for the fantastic words! And we're glad that you came across the post-mortem too. In retrospect, we were sure that Lycanthropy had some result associated with it, but it seems like it ended up not having anything assigned. Guess we just wanted an excuse to give it furry-ears. ๐
We've thought about potentially remaking this game a few times (even made two prototypes at different points) and adding in several of the things you've mentioned or which we considered during the post-mortem of the game. For example, for the endings, we considered having little alien-spaceships that would appear on the menu signifying each ending you had unlocked to make it a more interactive "ending checklist". And rather than explaining the choices, we though about making it more clear which values were changed as a result of picking what actions or as a result of an event (which would also include Science and Nature as new variables).
Unfortunately, schedules, other projects and a few other life related matters got in the way and despite even making some assets, we never truly dived much into them. We still hope we can visit this project again sometime to really give it some extra-life, but at this time we're a bit hand-tied with our new big project.
And we're glad to see more folks getting into game development too! The Petty Puny Planet post-mortem is actually just one of the few Development Insights we made back when we were getting into jamming (we posted stuff very frequently then) and since it was only our 3rd short-game, there's a lot of things we had to iron out from there and we improved on in the following games. Even then, if you ever want some advice or anything else regrading gamedev, feel free to reach us out! Here's the best luck to your journey! ๐ณ
The offer to help is super sweet, thanks. It's really interesting entering this indie game space, where comments actually reach real humans who can then genuinely respond is just kinda... Mind-blowing. Lol. So thanks for being a friendly... entity early on.
There's also a ton of cool folks and real humans on the high-end side, especially if you use something like Twitter, and they're actually pretty open to inquiries and talking with them as well! Most of the times though, yes, because of the amounts of people and processes involved, company-profiles and the like tend to be a lot colder since they represent way more voices.
With indie folks, you mostly always have a single person in charge of all of the PR, or even the studio heads (our case) making it much more homogeneous in terms of where we stand, our views and the like, so it ends up feeling more human as a result. But in the end, no matter where you look, we're still all humans working on stuff. ๐
The bishonen moon is among our favourite additions to the game. We found it hilarious that it just stays there for the rest of the game, like a needlessly handsome narrator. ๐
We had a go with Petty Puny Planet 38, and found that it was super fun! We really liked how different the planet would look after giving people something new to play with. The artwork is super fitting and makes me want to play through more times and see all the different combinations. We also made a video of our playthrough.
There are many questions in the universe that, not even we, planet overseers, are able to answer. Mysteries that have blinded us over the years that are yet to be answered. Why the 38? We don't know. Maybe the decision that this game should exist was the 38th decision that the planet overseer of our very own planet picked? What about the other 37 decisions? What were they? Are the reasons we have videogames nowadays just another decision made by someone, high there in space? Ah... mysteries, mysteries.
On all seriousness, it's a reoccurring gag we have been making ever since Ludum Dare 36 (which was our first game jam), where we decided to add the number of the jam's edition (36) to the game's name (Colossorama) as a joke. When we submitted Colossorama in Ludum Dare 36 it too was originally named Colossorama 36. However, when we updated the game with almost double the content, we figured we would drop the number in order to distinguish it from the original game jam version of the game - therefor just calling it Colossorama. We did the same with Hyper Holomayhem 37.
Basically, the number just identifies that the game was made during Ludum Dare 38, and whenever we update the game, we will drop the number. Hope that satisfies your curiosity!
Your reaction to "Make Anime Real" has to possibly be our new favorite reaction to one of the in-game actions yet. It's even more amusing that the ones we've seen so far. Every new video it seems the more we realize we should have been a bit more laid-back when it came to setting the fire events probability. We'll make sure to actually nerf the fire the next time we update the game. Our bad. :P
Thanks a lot for making a video on the game! It was really entertaining to watch and we're glad you got the GameDev Ending! That ending was honestly a last minute addition, but it's still our favorite ending so far. It was really surprising, especially since how close you were to getting the Zombie Apocalypse ending. Glad to see you are that proud of your small ideal planet!
As for the resemblance to Sort the Court, yes, it was indeed (and still is) our main inspiration for the game! We wanted something that people could play and try to find all the actions/consequences/endings as they played along, as well as develop something that we could easily iterate upon (which we still haven't had a change to do, but we hope to at some point). Thank you again for playing, and we're glad you enjoyed the game!
Sorry for the late response! First off, thanks a lot for making a video on the game! We're glad you enjoyed playing the game and Planet Zargoth is definitely sporting some nice dental-planned teeth and Colossorama by the end of it! Congratulations on reaching the 100 Happiness goal you've set as well!
We've been commenting this on pretty much every video that been made on the game so far, but yes, we certainly need to tweak the number of times that fires and ice ages happen during the game. But hey, just as you mentioned, maybe they could use your planet as an inspiration for Ice Age 6 (yes, they're making a sixth movie already).
We do wonder which of the endings you would have obtained if you kept going with your planet though! The 'Poverty Line' option that appeared by the end of the video was one of them, although it is one of the more bummer endings. If you do revisit the game, let us know! Also for a tip, don't be afraid to pick 'One More Choice!'. It definitely helps speed up the game! ;)
Thank you once more for playing and for the entertaining video!
But have you gotten the Moon Ending yet? That has to be the best ending possible to a Moon Enthusiast like you! We're glad you liked the game (and the moons too)!
I assume you are speaking about the web version. Depending on the browser, OS and other factors, there might be some difficulties when trying to play the game. If the web version doesn't actually load, then we suggest the best option is really either playing the desktop or the mobile version.
We can try and look at what the issue could possibly be, but we would need some more details about how you're trying to run the game (assuming you're playing the Desktop version) or what browser/OS you are currently using.
Very well made game! A lot of time and effort went into these fun little options and the cosmetic changes to the planet were very clever! I very much enjoyed playing and hope to see more from you guys! :)
Thanks a lot for making a video on the game and sorry for the late comment (these past few weeks have been crazy)! We're glad you enjoyed in the game overall, especially the different options and cosmetics. It's also nice to see someone going as far as covering three different endings on a single video, pretty sure it's the first time we see someone actually get the Zombie Apocalypse ending on video. Poor second planet which got stuck with endless misery on that asteroid belt though.
Thanks a lot for playing, and we thank you for looking forward for more (we gave you a Twitter follow as well)! We have some more plans regarding new choices and features we would like to add to the game, but we don't have an ETA on when it will be ready. We hope you look forward to it! :D
Turning anime real is a very kawaii choice indeed. Thanks for the video, and we hope you've had a whale of a time with your not so-easy job of being a planetary god! ๐ณ
We've also liked your video it in the Coverage Appreciation post we wrote showcasing all the videos people have made so far!
Thanks a lot for making a video of the game! It was really entertaining, especially seeing you react to the ridiculous number of times that the Ice Age event occurred. We hope we didn't give the wrong idea with the game's progress though since you've asked your subscribers to help you decide what to do next with your planet, when current planet progress doesn't really save at the time. Hopefully that's not a problem in case you decide to continue the series. Really, thanks a lot for your video!
In regards of you comparing it to Sort the Court - it was actually one of the main inspirations for this game! We hope that when we expand upon the concept we can add as much as variety to our game as it!
We've also featured your video it in the Coverage Appreciation post we wrote compiling all the videos that have been made so far!
Thank you very much for featuring me on your "Coverage Appreciation" page, I really appreciate that!
As I said over on Youtube -
"Your game is honestly awesome! I had so much fun playing it! And yea, I found out after I closed the game down that I couldn't continue off from where I was which is a shame, but next time I get similar options, I'll go for what people asked to see. I really hope your game gets a lot more attention because it absolutely deserves it!"

"Gamedev ending"
Yes, my favorite. You have done good. Wait... does that mean that someone's playing the game of our world? Enjoy that crisis ;)
We have an inside joke that some of our other games might even be someone's planet in Petty Puny Planet. Who knows? Maybe we are also someone else's planet. ๐ Glad you enjoyed the game! ๐ค
dude this game is amazing!
And you're amazing too! โจ
im on EndeavourOS a arch linux distro and i cant move my mouse

Depends on how many endings you aim to get! One ending should take you only about 10m to get, assuming you check the text and reactions (which we strongly recommend you to given that's where the fun of the game comes from). ๐

allmost of them? That's a lot of dedication. You have most likely seen all of them by now. Congrats!
Thanks for playing for that long! We really appreciate it. ๐
best game ever
I got all 10 endings, some of them were awesome, some of them were totally unexpected. Great job!
I had so much fun! I kept giving my creatures more appendages and science in hopes that they would stop burning everything down.
